Sarah Geronimo

Sarah explains in Preview magazine’s October issue: "A lot of young people look up to me. It would not be a good example if they saw their Ate Sarah in a kissing scene."

Wonder how the fans would feel about Ate Sarah in dramatic eye makeup and stunning coats from Burberry of London, looking very sophisticated? Chances are, they wouldn’t recognize her.

Actually, Sarah has changed in many ways. For starters, she’s 20. Isn’t she allowed to have a boyfriend yet? Too busy perfecting her singing, she says, especially now that she wants to be known for more than her old birit style.

She’s succeeding, too. Her new album, "Just Me… Sarah," out in the market, is a pleasing showcase of her much-improved pipes. We’ve been listening to it for two straight weeks.

So the physical makeover for the magazine cover effectively echoes her vocal transition from shrill to versatile. Songwriters have to work double-time to churn out compositions that will give it justice.

Carlo Aquino gives Maja Salvador a Tiffany & Co. bracelet

Author: Candice Lim

In interview with PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal), Maja Salvador admits that Carlo Aquino has expressed interest in her.

"Nagpaparamdam po ‘yong tao pero nirerespeto niya po ‘yong desisyon ko na hangang ganoon lang," said the Dance Princess during the Ultimate Dance 4 (UD4) album launch last Monday at the Virgin Café. (UD4 is a compilation of dance tunes performed by Maja, John Prats, Shaina Magdayao, and Rayver Cruz.)

BARKADA. Maja reveals that Carlo and she got to know each other during their U.S. tour, produced by John Ling.

She explained, "Nag-start ‘yong barkada namin sa States, noong nag-States po kami. Pagdating namin dito ‘tsaka lang kami nagkikita pag umuuwi ‘yong producer namin, si Kuya John. Kapag nagkikita kami, ‘O, kamusta ka na?’"

COURTING MAJA. Even though there are several boys courting her, the young actress says she has no intentions of having a boyfriend.

Maja also says that Carlo knows where he stands.

TIFFANY BRACELET. On Maja’s 18th birthday last year, she received an expensive gift from Carlo—a Tiffany & Co. white gold square-link bracelet.

"Di ba, October 5 po ang birthday ko? November niya ibinigay…

She managed to joke, "Basta late [na niya nabigay]. Nagtipid!"

13 ROSES. Maja spent Valentine’s day with the cast and crew of Maalaala Mo Kaya. She filmed an episode with John Wayne Sace and Erich Gonzalez.

Nagka-anak sila pero ayaw nila ipaalam sa magulang nila so ako ‘yong nag-alaga nung bata ng three years.

When she got home after the taping, she was surprised to receive flowers from Carlo—12 red roses and a single white rose, to be exact.

The young actress commented, "Kasi di po ba may 12 red roses, may isang white rose. Sabi ko, ‘Ano bang kaekekan ‘yan?’

"Sabi niya, ‘White rose [means] pure love.’"

Magkita na tayo by: Maja Salvador

Sino ka ba?
Parang matagal na kitang kilala
Kausap kita araw-araw
Kahit d pa tau nagkikita
Sino ka ba?

Sino ka ba?
Parati nalng kitang kasama
Pag uwi ko sa bahay
Pagkatapos ng eskwela

Ilang basketball games ang iniwan ko
Para dumiretso sa computer ko…

Lapster games ang iniwan ko
Para dumiretso sa computer ko…

( refrain )

Ngunit hanggang dito na lang ba tayo…
Sa sarili nating mundo…

( chorus )

Magkita na tayo
Magkita na tayo
Gusto pa kitang makilala pa
Magkita na tayo
Magkita na tayo
Gusto pa makita ang ‘yong mukha
Magkita na tayo
Magkita na tayo
Gusto kong marinig ang boses mo
Magkita na tayo
Magkita na tayo
Alam kong matagal na tayong
Ganito kaya…
Magkita na tayo

Ngunit baka hindi mo ako magustohan,
Baka masira lang ang ating pakakaibigan

‘Wag mong isipin yan, hindi ako
Katulad ng iba d’yan.

( back to refrain )
( back to chorus )

Maja Salvador’s manager breaks her silence about contract dispute

How could there not be a contract?  I wasn’t aware that contracts were not part of conversations with PAMI!  Who conducts business without anything in writing?  I go to the store and I get a receipt for a pack of gum.  I work and I get a contract.  Why wouldn’t there be one necessary for Maja?  Strange!!

- Chuva Chienes

“This is not only my case, this is also a case of most PAMI [Philippine Artists Managers Inc.] members,” bungad ni Chit. “We do not believe in contract. Ngayon, halimbawa nagkaroon man ng pirmahan dahil there was a necessity, parang it is a letter of authority to collect o di kaya ay required ng kumpanya.

Maja Salvador experiences first reel and real kissing with John Lloyd Cruz

Author: Rose Garcia

Isa na rito si Maja Salvador who plays a very important role in the film.

MORE DARING MAJA?

Sobra! Malaki or maliit na role, gusto kong tanggapin basta John Lloyd-Bea. It Might Be You po kasi, kasama nila ko at sobrang fan nila ko. At saka, wow, dati sobrang supporting lang ako sa It Might Be You, ‘tapos ngayon…

Maja Salvador Profile

Born October 5, 1988- Maja Salvador is one of the latest in line of the illustrious show biz clan of the Salvador family. She is now making her own identity and mark as the Dance Princess of the Philippines and one of the most promising young actresses in the industry.

Name: Maja Ross Andres
Stage Name: Maja Salvador
Nick Name: Maja, Majang, Baby Maj, Totzki
Birthday: October 5, 1988
Age: 18 yrs. old
Zodiac: Libra
Siblings: Joseph, Jonjon, Bong, Luchi, Shyla, Jason, Marie, Kirby
Father’s Name: Ross Rival
Mother’s Name: Thelma Andres
School: San Benildo Integrated School / ABS-CBN Distance Learning Center
Hometown: Apari, Cagayan

Majah’s Biography:

There’s something about a teenaged girl aching for her long-lost dad that moves one’s heart. When ABS-CBN’s Charo Santos-Concio saw Maja Salvador pleading on nationwide TV for a glimpse of her dad Ross Rival, something in the girl’s angelic face tugged at the network executive’s heartstrings. Concio asked her staff to look for Maja.

Thus did Maja Salvador sign up with the Lopez network and was introduced as John Prats’ partner in It Might Be You last February.

Before that though, Lady Luck was working overtime for the 17-year-old girl from Aparri. Maja met Farrah Ramos, movie columnist-talent manager Chit Ramos’s daughter in a modeling workshop and they became fast friends. Little did Maja know their friendship will lead her, not only to a reunion with her dad, but to a promising career in showbiz, a field her father’s side of the family has been identified with for decades.

Maja confided to Chit that she had long wanted to see her dad, whom she last saw when she was only seven. Maja did not know Chit wrote about showbiz and never suspected her wishful thinking will come true.

To Maja’s surprise, Chit replied, “You want to see your dad? Let’s call Phillip (Salvador, Maja’s uncle).” Before Maja can say a word, Chit dialed Philip’s number on the cell phone and uncle and niece were talking.

The long-delayed father-daughter reunion - chronicled and aired on The Buzz – took place in the house of Ramon Salvador, Phillip’s older brother. As fate would have it, Concio was watching at that time, and that touching scene stuck in her mind. The rest, as they say, is history.

“I feel no bitterness toward my father, even if he and my mom separated when I was a baby. My mom said I won’t be here if it weren’t for him,” says Maja.

Besides, she has moved on herself. Maja is grateful to her Japanese stepdad for taking good care of her. It was her stepdad who, upon learning she was entering showbiz, came home from Japan, where he markets Toyotas, to buy Maja a van to take her around.

Maja is having the time of her life, never mind if she has to wake up early to make it to her classes in a school close to their home in Cainta at 7 a.m. Never mind, too, if unlike before, when she can go to malls in casual shorts, “I must look presentable because fans see me.”

She need not worry about her get-ups though. Navy/White Tops got her as image model. The brand’s pastel colors complement Maja’s young, carefree image, and its casual look, she adds, jibes with her love for things simple yet comfortable.

Her style has even caught the eye of Aga Muhlach and Janice de Belen’s son Igi Boy, who sent Maja flowers during a presscon.

“Maybe it’s his way of telling me I should feel at ease at that time,”Maja brushes away romantic ideas.
